Dark, electronic but yet melodic music is the music I like most since many years for now. I really search for pure, un-trendy band all the time, but in most cases I get disappointed because I discover often some unnecessary trends like Techno or Jungle in them, whereas I like to receive rather pure and strict electronic music. Nowadays the Dark Electronic scene is divided in two scenes : the un-commercial Industrial Noise scene (hard and harsh but without any tunes) and the Elector scene (some tunes but totally trendy in most cases). INFACT is definitely an un-trendy band, which has many polyphonic electronic riffs/tunes and also often experimental distorted drums but always in an aggressive and also "dirty" way. There are maybe sometimes some Techno bass drum sounds, but never used in this bass-hihat-bass-hihat way. If you listen carefully to the songs you will often discover many hidden details in each song (in the tunes as well as in the drums). The songs all have a good structure and build up their power very well, often at the very end a new tune appears what give the songs a great feeling of build-up. The voice is very rough and aggressive but not very distorted. My absolute favourite song of this CD is "Exile And Death". This is the darkest and slowest song of this CD (and therefore maybe the song most close to the style of my Dark Electronic project ICE AGES). It has an un-straight beat (what I always appreciate) and very dark and negative keyboard sounds (sounding very threatening). There are many Dark Electro songs which I like but since a very long time I haven't heard a CD with so many good songs. I hope this (one man) band will stay pure and avoid all compromises for the future so that I can expect some more good releases from it. Protector : 99% (Décembre 2003) |
